I am replacing a Cuisinart CB600SA that we picked up at Costco about 10 years ago, I think, which I recently broke by dropping it.This 1,000 watt Krups is far, far quieter, more powerful, bigger capacity, locking lid, dishwasher safe, ingenious locking jar bottom (you must turn the pitcher up side down to remove the bottom).It starts out slow every time and builts up speed (no more stuff spraying out of the blender if you forget to put the top on).I spent a lot of time researching and seriously considered spending 500 on a Vitamix or Blendtec, but the more I read, the more I wanted a blender that was designed to spin more slowly with thicker gauge windings and higher torque. The V. and B. machines are designed to spin at high speeds without a lot of torque and will shut off for a very long time if the machine thinks you are overheating the motor (easy to do when the wires are thinner).Read more ›

Blender arrived and works excellent. Blender looks even nicer in person. I will buy from this vendor again. Has a nice feature where it starts slow and speeds up over a few seconds so that it does not splash. Automatically shuts itself off if it jams so it does not burn itself out. Professional appearance and good quality thick glass, very generous volume capacity.

Best Die Cast Blender, You Should Get This Blender

My old Cuisinart CBT-1000 PowerEdge 1000-Watt Die-Cast Blender with 64-Ounce Jar died so needed a replacement. I was looking for a Die Cast Blender that can make smoothie for me and my husband every day. My husband loves super cold smoothie so we put ice in it. This Krups KB790 Blender has a better look, and it's very quiet. I am so glad I get Krups blender this time. It's highly recommended.

This is a fantastic blender. I had about given up finding something I'd like. It is quiet--REALLY! And so effective I can virtually whip skim milk with it when I'm making a shake for my diet. My husband has enjoyed making milk shakes. It looks great on the counter top too! Cleaning could be an issue but I do just give it a very thorough rinsing in hot sudsy water and I don't take it apart every time--don't want to tangle with those very sharp blades too often as I can be a klutz!

I primarily use this for my morning smoothies (chard, spinach, frozen berries, yogurt, etc) and it does a good job. I wish the blades were a little sharper or that there were different blades available, it sometimes leaves the spinach/chard a little fibery instead of chopped up finely, but I'm pretty happy. It's quiet, love the nice big jar, it fits all of my ingredients with no issues.

This is the best blender ever! Anyone who says anything bad about this blender must have got a defective one. For the first time in my life I have a blender that can crush and cut up ice with ease. For a blender, it's very quiet. I am so impressed by how well it mixes food. Nothing ever gets stuck. Blending is always quick and easy!

Got the Titanium version, 1100 Watts. Dang thing could pull a water skier. I like the pleasant growl when it revs up. No idea if borosilicate glass is better than regular, but it's thick, and that's good. It definitely turns frozen fruit into silky smooth liquid. It's quieter than my previous blender, and twice as powerful. Life is good.

Broke down after 18 months

I went from an ancient Oster blender that I got about 25 years ago at a garage sale to this blender! The old Oster was actually pretty good and very quiet, but when I started making smoothies every morning I had to slice things up pretty small and feed them very gently to the blender and it would still jam. I tried other blenders but couldn't stand the racket. I tried this one and it's a keeper! It's very elegant, well-designed and well-made, smoothies are a breeze, cleanup is very easy, and the noise level is about the same as the old Oster even though it has probably twice the power. Also Kitchen Kapers mailed it very quickly and I got it 5 days before the estimated delivery!Update- The blender started to just stop for no reason, even on a low speed. Today it stopped working permanently. At this price it should last longer than the Oster which goes for 30 bucks!!! Junk, don't throw away your hard-earned $$.
