I ordered this to replace my very old Phillips Senseo pod brewer, since they are apparently nearing extinction. This makes even better coffee! You can use a variety of the 61 mm pod sizes, from the 7-9 gram pods, up to the 12 gram pods, and you can select the volume you want brewed: 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12 oz. I like strong, rich coffee, so I use a 12g Wolfgang Puck Noir pod, and a 12g Baronet European Decaf pod, for a 10 oz mug, and it rivals coffee house coffee. The crema is as thick as what you see on a latte or even a cappuccino. It's also easy and fast. I've only had it for about a month, so I hope it's as reliable as my Senseo, but so far I think it's an excellent brewer.

My Senseo (3) are all dead, and its hard to find the right pods for them, but damn the coffee was good.Since I couldn't find any SENSEO MACHINES I bought a BUNN My Cafe. I've been trying to tell myself the coffee was just as good. It wasn't, and it's been slowly and steadily getting weaker and weaker. And NO crema :(So I started looking again, and found this coffee maker.The coffee's even better than Senseo (and it fits BARONET pods), and such crema :DIt's only been here for 5 hours and I've had four delicious cups of coffee already!I don't know how long it will last, but for coffee this good - if it only lasts a year, I'll keep buying them.Yes - It's THAT good.Added:4/21/2013:It's still going strong zero leaks, zero errors, wonderful coffee.I just bought another one for my desk at work. The coffee there is free and good, but this is so much better. Well worth buying another maker and paying for my own pods...Added:8/6/2013Last Friday it stopped working right, it would only make 4 ounces of coffee at a time. I did all listed cleaning routines, and reset routines and by Sunday it had stopped giving out any coffee at all. I called SUNCANA (left a voicemail) on Sunday. They called me back on Monday, at work. They advised me that there was a cleaning routine required frequently (and undocumented) of taking out the pod holder, removing the little 'rack' inside it (pops out and back in), and cleaning the stainless steel bowl on both sides under running water with a little mild detergent and a hard bristled brush. I did it Monday night when I got home. The brewer is now working perfectly again!Apparently the bowl gets sticky with oil of coffee and traps the coffee grains that block the tiny hole. Thus cleaning it is ineffective unless you also get rid of the oil of coffee inside the bowl.Recommended every month or sooner...So I'm still very happy :)

Seeing as the Senseo branded machines are turning in to a rare beast, this seemed like the best replacement. The brewer does not disappoint! The H701A brews at a proper high temperature and high pressure, leaving a good crema layer and a properly bodied, not bitter coffee.The one single drawback, that is not worth pulling a star for, is that there is no obvious accessory for using two pods at once. Again, this is the only particular drawback I can see or find! The construction of the brewer is solid, the materials do not feel cheap, and while I have not had the unit for a long time yet, I would definitely consider purchasing another in time, and can definitely recommend this to others!

I've been throwing money away trying to find a good reliable coffee maker. I bought the TRU Digital Brewer and after only a few months it's in the garage collecting dust. I've been using this non-stop since I got it and I can say that so far I only have two complaints and they are both design related. The unit isn't tall enough to put a thermo cup in so I brew into a standard cup and then pour it into a tall thermos cup. My other complaint is that the pod holder isn't as big as most pod brewers. It holds a standard pod perfectly but the plastic replacements to use your own coffee won't fit. This is a plus and a minus, on the good side, the pods I buy fit perfect and the lever that drops the pressure brewer down works flawless. On the down side, you'll need to buy a pod maker if you want to use your own coffee or tea. I can't find any reusable pods that fit.So, on the good side, the water is easy to fill, the pods fit perfect, the pressure system works flawless, it's easy to control the amount of water, the look is nice, the quality is very good and, oh yeah, the coffee tastes great.If they would do this exact design just two inches taller to allow for taller cups it'd be 5+ stars.

I have literally tried every type and about every manufacturer of single serve coffee maker (k-cup, pod, scoop). I have had a Senseo for over a year and absolutely love it. Except that it is unpredictable, leaks all over the place and probably the reason why it is off the market. So how do you go from using a Senseo to using something like a Black & Decker or the Hamilton Beach The Scoop. You don't!!! You use the Suncana. I've only had it for a week but my husband is a royal pain in the butt when it comes to 1) his coffee and how it tastes 2) how easy a machine is to use and 3) and most important how easy it use to clean up after. My husband absolutely loves this machine. No leaks all over my granite countertops, no mess, easy to use, easy to clean up. And did I mention it LOOKS absolutely beautiful???!! If it lasts I will stick with this brand. Hopefully they are working on a new model that can accommodate a travel mug and two pods. Then it would be absolute perfection.
