Beautifully cozy and comfortable

I had been watching this fireplace daily on Amazon while saving my money for the purchase. Sadly as my purchase date neared, the fireplace was classified as "out of stock". I was somewhat devastated and began looking at other options. Long story short: I purchased this item from another vendor with a coupon but still paid about $40.00 more than it is here. That said, this fireplace is absolutely incredible!! It looks even better in person and it is packaged wonderfully. All of the pieces were well protected. My 11-year-old daughter and I assembled this ourselves (it is relatively easy to assemble). I did over tighten one of the cam locks and broke it but had a spare to replace it. Everything fit together beautifully.I was somewhat worried that the fire would be really "fake" looking but was pleasantly surprised that I could adjust the glow of the logs and the background fire to suit my tastes. It really is beautiful and I love that I now have a fireplace in my home. The thermostat for the heat is preset at 72 degrees and it automatically shuts off when the temperature is reached and kicks back on when it drops below the preset temperature (it can be adjusted to suit your tastes). You can also just operate the flame without any heat if you want the ambiance. The only thing missing is the "crackling" sound you get with a real fireplace when wood is burning. I may decide later to buy a sound machine if I decide I miss that effect. Other than that, it is perfect for me.The only way I would be any happier with this purchase is if I would have waited to buy it on Amazon (as it would have been less costly) but there was no guarantee it would ever be back in stock. This fireplace mantle is very pretty and the heating unit throws off a nice amount of heat. Very please with this purchase.
