Part Deux: The replacementOur bet; to replace versus refund, worked on both counts - Amazon took care of shipping us a replacement pronto and the new product that showed up works as expected!The new one arrived before the UPS guy came to pick up the old one. They did downgrade to USPS for the second shipment - it was an awkward moment when the poor USPS mailwoman lugged the heavy package (poorly packed and damaged box) to the door and asked if we had stones in there - we didn't have the heart to tell her that indeed there were stones in it :-)Barring the damaged outer box, everything else was in good shape and the product was put to good use right away, grinding rice and pulses. We ran it for two batches lasting 45 minutes each. The batter was ground fine, well done and we simply refrigerated the drum with its contents! The dosas and vadas turned out great made and we are happy so far with our investment.So, in summary, Elgi does have a good product here, perhaps they need to tweak their QC process some! More importantly, Amazon backed the customer like they always do and ensured the return, shipping and replacement were pain free and efficient, which helped make the glitch first time around a distant memoryThe first time: Damaged goodsOrdered the Ultra Dura+ after reading all the reviews and hearing good things about it from family and friends. Ultra is finest wet grinder i have ever seen. Within 15 minutes all the works are done. Excellent!!!I haven't tested the dough maker since it's not required for me

A very good product. Helps the process of dosa/ idly grinding batter very easy. These are traditional Indian breakfast/dinner items. You can put dal (lentil) and do other chores. No need to stand near it. Have been using this product for 10 years now.

Its very good for making atta.Only issue i have seen is, if we put lot of rice then it gives burning smell. If we reduce rice then it is not a problem

Idly and dosa batter come out really well. Wish it was little bit less expensive.....Size is perfect for a 4-6 member family. Strongly recommend and buying through amazon made it so much better.

We recently purchased this wet grinder from Great Elect. It makes no noise and we found it very ideal for making idlis and dosas. It is very compact and does not occupy much space. We are very satisfied with this wet grinder.
