with the bonavita, what you see is exactly what you get: a simple, quality, and minimalistic coffee maker.it brews a killer cup of joe!i was finally able to put my french press on the shelf.i'm only giving it 4 stars because I purchased the bundle with a vacuum sealed bean storage canister, and it appears that the bundle has changed.

After researching several coffee makers, this one kept coming out as one that truly heats the water to over 200 degrees which is necessary for excellent brewing. This machine is not only easy to use and clean, but it delivers a great cup of coffee! Additionally, the carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours.

I have been in search of the perfect coffee maker since 1957 of every type and many brands and at last, here it is! After reading the praise for Bonavita BV1800TH 8 Cup Coffee Maker With Thermal Carafe in Cook's Illustrated magazine I ordered one for my husband for a Father's Day gift (so I'd get the credit AND the good coffee!. It is so easy to use, easy to clean, is practically instant, and yields a wonderful beverage that remains hot in the carafe for hours. We were so delighted with this Bonavita coffee maker that I just ordered another one from Amazon as a gift for my daughter.

The product itself is awesome....as I have already reported to Amazon, one of the cups was damaged (I sent a photo)...other than that the item came very quickly and is as advertised

It took getting used to having the drip comparment with the coffee pot rather than on the brewer side. However, I find that it is a lot easier to clean the unit and have had no leaking trouble (unlike many other makers I have owned).After 9 months, the heating element failed. I submitted a warranty claim through the website and was advised that they would respond within 5 business days. I had a response in 2 business days and a new brewer is being shipped.
