Description
In 1971, Braun launched a series of travel alarm clocks and watches. The infamous German industrial designers, Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs were the masterminds behind the project; and, with their "Less, is more" design philosophy they produced a number of memorable products for Braun including some of the best travel alarm clocks around. Over the last 40 years, Braun time pieces were characterized by their pure, highly functional and timeless design with no superfluous details: Every feature directly reflects a function. Rooted in over half a century of modern design at Braun, the core values of functionality, quality and aesthetics are reflected in all clocks and watches. The strength of clarity and simplicity of their design makes them a pleasure to use and to own. The analogue clocks were manufactured with the intention to prioritize innovation and durability. The beautifully sleek structure and dial illumination, together with the slight graying back of the numbers ensures that the hour arms are clear and easily readable. All the clocks use precision German movements, known for their silent nature and high accuracy. A variety of models use radio controlled movements for complete accuracy of time. A selection of the very best classic clocks and watches have been recreated in keeping with the high standards of quality of the originals. At the same time, brand new designs on both watches and clocks take the collection further than ever before
For most Americans, Braun is known primarily (and singularly) as a company that makes shavers and coffee makers. However in the design world, it is known as design innovator of highest degree (some refer to it the proto-Apple). Through the designs of Dieter Rams (check this flickr stream), Braun championed super-slick, functionalist designs throughout 1950-80s. It produced a diverse line of household goods and electronics that are highly in-demand by design collectors. Turntable Lab is proud to offer both authentic Braun reissues and new designs. This digital wall clock is radio-controlled and features an ABS slimline case, acrylic lens, and optional table stand and measures 8.3" x 8.3" x 0.9".

It is a pretty nice clock. Elegant. But the numbers are dark, so it works only in bright light. Not like the one shown in the picture.

I bought this without actually seeing in real. Came up with good looking, cool watch. I say this, i compared with my earlier Casio wall watches. This is far more beauty watch and far better digits. I can see every part of the digits, there is no week parts unlike most of the Japanese electronics watches. I was thinking this is normal electronics watch behavior. For example "5", top of it you see a week "-", or other joints of the digits are week right? This watch you can see the digits every joints sharp and fully readable.Automatically detects fm radio time. Humidity and temperature readings is accurate because i have semi professional temperature tools, i compared with it.Only thing that i didn't like is, day section is too small. Hard to see from 3 meters away
